What Prime Day 2026 revealed about real projector pricing
Four days in June, and Dangbei and Anker cut flagship laser projectors by up to half. Prime Day 2026 said more about list prices than about bargains.

Fifty percent off a flagship laser projector, announced by the maker in its own press release: that was the story of Prime Day 2026, which Amazon ran from 00:01 PDT on 23 June to 23:59 PDT on 26 June, four days rather than the usual two, and in June rather than the July slot the event has held for most of its life. Projectors were discounted heavily throughout, in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
The individual price tags have already moved on. The size of the reductions has not. When a manufacturer takes half off a flagship and does so through an official announcement, the list price was never a serious number.
The confirmed reductions were large
On the Anker side, the Nebula X1, a 4K triple-laser model with a 3,500 ANSI lumen claim, sold at 1,999 dollars against a 2,999 dollar regular price. The Cosmos 4K SE fell to 854 dollars from 1,300 and the compact P1i to 279 dollars from 369, reported as an all-time low. Even the X1 Pro, the top of the range, moved from 4,999 dollars to 3,999.
Dangbei went further and said so publicly. Its US promotion, running 23 to 26 June, put the DBOX02 at 949 dollars against 1,899, and the DBOX02 Pro with its gimbal stand at 799 dollars against 1,599. Both are 50 percent reductions. The MP1 Max dropped 39 percent to 1,104 dollars, and the 1080p N2 mini fell 35 percent to 149 dollars.
The UK pattern was similar but shallower
Dangbei's separate Amazon UK promotion ran 24 to 26 June and was pitched at World Cup viewing. The DBOX02 was £799 against £1,279, and the MP1 Max £999 against £1,599, both 38 percent. That is a real gap against the US percentages on identical hardware, and a reminder that UK buyers usually see smaller swings than the headline American figures suggest. Portables moved too: What Hi-Fi reported the Nebula Mars 3 Air at £339 in the early Prime Day window, down from £550.
Not every "Prime Day" deal was a Prime Day deal
Epson's Lifestudio savings were widely folded into Prime Day coverage, but the company's own announcement dates the promotion 25 June to 8 August and runs it through the Epson e-store and selected retailers rather than as an Amazon event. The Lifestudio Grand Plus went to 2,999.99 dollars from 3,799.99, an 800 dollar reduction and the largest in the range, and the Grand to 1,999.99 dollars from 2,699.99. The smaller Pop, Pop Plus, Flex and Flex Plus models saw reductions between 50 and 120 dollars.
ProjectorCentral also listed the BenQ X3100i, a 3,300 lumen 4LED gaming projector, at 1,800 dollars during the event, which it put at 28 percent below the regular price.
Margin, not generosity
Two things follow. First, the top of the lifestyle laser market carries a lot of margin, and the brands that discount hardest are usually the ones fighting for shelf position rather than the ones with the best pictures. Dangbei's 50 percent cut and Anker's third off the X1 are competitive signals, not a change in what the hardware does.
Second, list prices in this category are an opening position. Anyone paying full retail for a mid-range or flagship smart projector outside a sale window is paying an avoidable premium. Decide which projector suits the room first, then wait for the price to reach its usual floor. A discount changes none of the things that decide whether a projector is any good: contrast, black level, HDR tone mapping, input lag, fan noise. A 3,500 ANSI lumen rating and a 50 percent discount are separate facts, and only one of them survives the sale.
