JMGO brings IRIS 4K/120Hz smart-projector series to IFA
Two IRIS projectors from JMGO promise 4K at 120Hz from input to output, with pre-orders at $2,999 and $1,899 and shipments from October 19, 2026.

True 4K at 120Hz from input to output is the claim JMGO brought to IFA 2026 with the global debut of the IRIS series, led by the IRIS Ultra Max. The company also quotes a MALC 6.0 triple-laser engine, a dual iris system and 10,000:1 native contrast for the Max, which is claimed at 6,500 ISO lumens. The Ultra is quoted at 4,500 ISO lumens and 7,000:1 native contrast.
Two DLP controllers for 4K at 120Hz
JMGO's press materials describe a dual-DLPC architecture, pairing two DLPC8545 controllers with a custom HyperPulse Actuator, as the mechanism that lets a full 4K signal process at 120Hz rather than dropping to a lower resolution at high refresh rates. Both models are said to support Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency Mode, alongside what JMGO and reviewers covering the launch describe as the first Dolby Vision implementation running at 4K and 120Hz simultaneously in a projector. JMGO also cites a 15-blade dual-iris design (6+9 blades), colour coverage of 110% of the BT.2020 gamut, out-of-box colour accuracy of around Delta E 0.7, 4K/120Hz MEMC motion processing and a hardware-level anti-RBE system aimed at reducing the rainbow artefacts associated with single-chip DLP designs.
Dolby Vision at a full 4K/120Hz is a rare combination. How it is tone-mapped in practice, rather than simply supported on a spec sheet, and whether the anti-RBE system reduces DLP colour break-up by a visible margin, are the two claims that will decide whether the IRIS series lives up to its billing as a gaming-first, theatre-capable projector.
Two tiers, two levels of optical control
The Ultra Max carries a 3-in-1 optical system: a 0.88-1.7:1 optical zoom, four-way lens shift (vertical plus or minus 130%, horizontal plus or minus 53%) and an AI-powered gimbal offering 360-degree pan and 150-degree tilt. That is a more useful combination than simple automatic keystone, because good optical adjustment can preserve the image without shrinking or resampling it digitally. The Ultra carries the same zoom and lens-shift range but drops the motorised gimbal, positioning it as the more conventional, fixed-placement model of the pair.
A head start from the Chinese market
The IRIS technology reportedly launched first in China in May 2026, where JMGO says it sold more than 5,000 units in its first three months before the global rollout at IFA. That gives the series a track record ahead of Western availability, though under different content and display standards from those used in US and European markets.
Pre-orders open alongside the IFA debut
JMGO says pre-orders began September 4 at $2,999 for the Ultra Max and $1,899 for the Ultra, a $500 discount in each case against list prices of $3,499 and $2,399. According to coverage of the launch, shipments are scheduled to begin on October 19, 2026. Those numbers make the series one of IFA's most ambitious projector launches, particularly for buyers who want high-refresh, large-screen gaming rather than a conventional cinema-only projector.
