Dangbei launches N3 Max Full HD smart projector
Dangbei's N3 Max combines native 1080p, 1,000 ISO lumens, VIDAA streaming and a 180-degree rotating stand, with InstanPro AI setup tools and a US list price of $559.99.

A flexible 1080p projector for everyday rooms
Dangbei has introduced the N3 Max, a Full HD home projector designed around simple placement rather than a fixed cinema installation. It pairs native 1920x1080 output and a claimed 1,000 ISO lumens with VIDAA OS, HDR10 and HLG support, Dolby Audio and a 180-degree rotating stand.
That stand is central to the product story. Built into the chassis, it tilts from -45 to 135 degrees, letting the projector point at a wall or ceiling without a separate mount. That makes it a practical option for a bedroom, a temporary living-room setup or a small home where a permanent screen is unrealistic.
The specification Dangbei actually published
According to Dangbei's own press materials, the N3 Max uses an LED light source through an LCD imaging path, an MT9660 processor and 8GB of onboard storage, with a throw ratio of 1.25:1. Dangbei recommends a projected image between 80 and 120 inches for the best balance of brightness and sharpness, while the panel can stretch to a 60 to 150-inch range. Connectivity covers HDMI 2.0 with eARC, two USB 2.0 ports, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 5, and Dangbei describes the optical engine as sealed against dust, a detail aimed at buyers who move the projector between rooms rather than install it once.
That ISO lumens figure is Dangbei's own rating rather than an independent measurement, and it describes output under standardised test conditions rather than what a viewer sees in a bright room. ISO 21118 lumens and the more familiar ANSI lumens are measured differently, so the number is not directly comparable to older ANSI-lumen specifications without conversion.
Smart streaming and automatic setup
Dangbei also lists streaming apps, voice control and automatic image-adjustment features under an "InstanPro AI" banner. Its published specifications include autofocus, automatic keystone correction, screen-fit sizing and obstacle avoidance, while the built-in audio system uses two 6W speakers with Dolby Audio. VIDAA OS ships with native Netflix access, a point Dangbei highlights because many budget projectors still need a separate streaming stick to reach major apps. Dangbei has also said a wall-colour adaptation mode and an eye-protection mode will arrive as an over-the-air update in the third quarter of 2026, meaning some software features postdate the physical launch.
Price and positioning
Dangbei's US storefront lists the N3 Max at a manufacturer suggested retail price of $559.99, with the projector selling at a promotional $449.99 at launch. ProjectorCentral separately reported an Amazon coupon bringing the price down further, to $399.99. Buyers should treat the lower figures as time-limited promotions rather than a fixed price, since coupon-driven discounts on budget smart projectors change frequently.
The N3 Max sits below the premium laser-projector segment, and below Dangbei's own laser-based Mars and Atom lines, but it is still an actual new-product launch rather than a buying guide. It shows how quickly the budget smart-projector category is normalising integrated streaming, automated alignment and flexible physical setup, features that were exclusive to pricier models only a few years ago.
What LED-LCD ratings usually lose under measurement
Dangbei's brightness, contrast and colour claims have not yet been independently measured for the N3 Max. LED-LCD projectors in this class often fall well short of their rated lumens once measured in a standard test pattern, and the practical usability of the automatic keystone and screen-fit tools, whether they preserve full resolution or crop and soften the image, remains to be verified by an independent reviewer.
